Saints Row 4 Patch 1.1
Saints Row 4 on the PC has just received a fresh patch via the Steam service, bringing all sorts of fixes for different bugs relating to the regular game, its co-op mode, and its recently launched.
DEEP SILVER Agents of Mayhem PS4, Xbox One review Agents of Mayhem is the brand new game from Volition, the makers of the Saints Row series. Available for PS4, Xbox One and PC, the over-the-top action game pits the eponymous agents of M.A.Y.H.E.M (Multinational AgencY Hunting Evil Masterminds) against a villainous organisation known as L.E.G.I.O.N (League of Evil Gentlemen Intent on Obliterating Nations). You start with three interchangeable agents - each with their own weapons and skills - and build up your team as the game progresses. It all takes place in a futuristic version of Seoul in South Korea, which is a fully open world playground that's ripe for destruction. It's kind of like a cross between Saints Row and Crackdown, which is handy now that the latter has been delayed to next year. The question is, does it live up to the Saints Row legacy, and can it lay the smackdown to Crackdown?
Check out our review gallery below to find out. In many ways, Agents of Mayhem feels a lot like a Saints Row release - and that's not a bad thing. It's a light-hearted action game with a cast of memorable characters and bags of humour - although not all of the jokes hit their mark. The animated cutscenes are a particular highlight, and look like they've been ripped straight from a Saturday morning cartoon from the 1980s. The run and gun action is rock solid, with satisfying gunplay that packs a real punch. There's a generous number of agents, abilities and unlockables, including a handful of genuinely unique special moves. Unfortunately for Agents of Mayhem, there are one or two major problems that bring the game down.
Saints Row 4 Patch Ps3
Volition's take on Seoul isn't a world you'll want to get lost in. The colourful, cartoon visuals and explosive action feel almost wasted on such a bland and uninteresting environment, especially when you spend a good chunk of the game in identikit bunkers shooting baddies. This lack of inventiveness spills over into other areas of the game. It's particularly evident in the missions, which are formulaic and repetitive. It wouldn't be so bad if you could play with a friend in drop-in/drop-out multiplayer, but sadly that's not an option, even though it seems like such a perfect fit.
It's a shame, because the over-the-top abilities, run and gun action and cartoon presentation is fun in short doses. Agents of Mayhem is a game that's built on solid foundations, but never hits the same heights as the Saints Row games that came before.
