So in case of rooted phone would this be the correct procedure: 1. Flash new firmware using SP Flash Tool in the way mentioned above 2. Flash TWRP as Recovery again as discribed in the forum (SP Flash Tool, Using Scatter File, only check Recovery, Mode Download) 3.
Root Phone again using TWRP and SuperSU Zip Or can I update a rooted phone in the way as mentioned above and uncheck the Recovery, so that TWRP is still in place? In most cases you can flash a newer version without flashing the recovery and userdata partitions, so you can keep your user data and the already flashed twrp recovery. Of course, you always have to re-root your phone after flashing. However, if you find new bugs or weird behavior after a such flashing process, you should repeat the action but with flashing each partition in firmware upgrade mode, even if you lose your user data and have to reflash the twrp image. Even if you flash in firmware upgrade mode, you can replace the stock recovery by the twrp image in the list of partitions, but in that case don't forget to boot your phone into recovery for the first time and even if you install the SuperSU as well, don't erase the cache in twrp.
I generally recommend to not to erase the cache in twrp to avoid boot loops.
